Blackie was clearly running out of ideas fast, because he just isn't as clever and hard as he thinks he is. He's just not. Watch him on Hear'N'Aid leading the choir, he looks like an imbecile.
Slap some sawblades and some spandex and some black eyeliner on him and slather him in blood, sure, he's scary, but see him in the real light and he's a blundering, attention-craving man-child with lyrics that hit about 16 years old and stop dead on arrival.
The Last Command isn't awful, it's just tired. I can still listen to it now and again, but the freshness of the 1st album kills it. And the next album seals the crypt.
The lesion Blackie should have learned long before W. They weren't Van Halen. They weren't KISS although many can argue about that. MTV was only going to be their friend if they played the game. Corporate sponsors and record execs controlled the music world at that time.
Blackie Lawless obviously had something going for him at this time and to be honest, he still does. This album is an amazing work of classic 80s metal. No not hair metal Some fans like that, others like the more serious lyrical themes on the Headless Children and after that. My opinion, its WASP and Blackie Lawless so just sit back, relax, and either way it will be heavy, vulgar at times, and just plain awesome.
I love the track Widowmaker, the small intro that builds into that simple, yet killer beat is almost unbeatable. That song gets me everytime. Wild Child is another classic track as well, catchy beat, catchy chorus as always. Plus its sorta funny too. Qty: 1 2 Qty: 1. Add to Cart. Secure transaction. Your transaction is secure. This is a great album. It's not as much of a standout as W. P, Last Command, or Headless Children, but it's a fun album that largely sticks to the formula of most early W.
P albums. It's not quite as heavy as the other albums either, but still very much metal. Now as a gray haired parent of I remember listening to this in high school and thinking this is some great music. Now as a gray haired parent of three girls, I feel I need to hide my love of 80s rock.
Good guitars and vocals, but can't listen to it with them. However, on the solo drive to work? It's 20 minutes of Blackie!

I'm a bit of a older guy and like hair bands. Love WASP. The first song on side A had a couple skips but I kept this copy because it was a first print from the 80s. See all reviews.
