First I bought Funeral Dress, and enjoyed it greatly. Then I noticed this acoustical version, and decided to give it a try. What I found is that both the vocals and the instruments are more pronounced. I can listen to this entire album over and over again, so much so that I almost have all of the words memorized.

This album actually grows on you the more you listen, until it becomes a familiar friend. The combination of Chuck Cleaver's no relation and Lisa Walker's voices are amazing, and you can really hear them in this version. A terrific group who have been burning up my iPod since Spring when I took a tip from Xgau.

According to Chuck Cleaver these versions were recorded in one day. They're good songwriters so all of the songs work really well acoustically. And Lisa's voice awesome. It's only natural to compare the accoustic versions to the electric versions found on Funeral Dress The accoustic versions of Humanbrained Horse and Motorcycle found here are more emotionally intimate and seem superior to the electric versions, on the other hand the electric versions of Airborne, Funeral Dress and Bought It Again kick-ass.
