Design Before I go deep underground to the software, I have to praise the chasis Nokia Lumia has wrapped around itself. The body is made from the one piece and has a very nice looking display. Phones body is made from durable polycarbonate plastic and it might feel a bit slippery. Fortunately Nokia will supply every Lumia with nice silicon cover that fits like a glove around the phone and gives a little extra protection.
Now it has a good grip too. If you want to see photos about the phone, you can find lots of them here. First time setup It was late friday night when I started to fire it up. Battery was of course fully charged I put the phone to the wall straight when I got back home from work and I just needed to take the SIM-card out of my old phone and install it to the Lumia.

Quibble with the details in the comments, please do, but I think I gave my pal some damn good advice. Email Address. I mean do I need to put the gain plugin and set it while I record my vocal? I use of course pre amp on my vocal and a bit external hardware compression.
I know how to set the preamp but what about the gain in DAW? Is it highly recommended to use first db plugin while you recording and after when you mixing the vocal either? Hi, and thanks for good advices :- In Logic X all the Software instruments having a very high signal, why is that, if it should be around db to -6db as default? I work with Superior Drum 3 a lot, and I gained the drums separately to hit between db, to get more headroom, is that wrong?
The HiHat is not gonna be louder then I mix it anyway, I therefor keep it around the signal its gonna end up with, anyway. Am I doing something stupid here? Hey Dave. I am running pro tools 12 with an Mbox3 and I want to use an Aurora Audio GTQ style mic pre but not quite sure how to achieve the full potential of the analog gtq2 pre. Is there a relationship between the gain on the mbox interface and gain on my outboard unit?
Ha Basically… How would you suggest connecting analog preamps to My audio interface. Really great article. I was just curious if there is a minimum or recommended signal to noise ratio when recording audio? Have you ever heard anything like that? Is there any rule of thumb about a minimum snr? I love the mics, but if I added a mic preamp in front of the Scarlett, what sort of mic preamp should I use and how would I work with two interfaces that could both have phantom power?
Seems like something is not functioning properly to be honest. However, if you were looking to make the signal a bit hotter, one of the best options would be to pick up a couple of DBC s preamp. Each have phantom power and your mics could be plugged in directly via xlr, then xlr out to your 2i2. You would need 2 one for each mic but this would certianly give you a hotter signal if used correctly. Check it out here. Your advice makes perfect sense. Should it be vary by instrument?
Thank you for the nice blog. So yes it apply to every track with one small exception. Even if your peaking at on other tracks your still good. A drum kit is one instrument with many elements. For all other tracks I still shoot for the same levels. The signal path shown above, shows: mic, pre-amp input, interface, DAW.
Do I really need one? Do you need a pre to get a nice clean sound, nope. Sometimes this can push you in the opposite direction your trying to go if your not careful. That said, the right preamp, can be very easy to get a great sound with.
One benefit of a preamp is your audio interface gain can be much, much less, and thus, you often will get a very clean signal. As far as which one to choose? There is really only one that I consider to be a perfect fit for the home studio for both quality, features, and price. You can check out the newest one here. Although it is perhaps a more respectable addiction than either drugs or alcohol, and less expensive than gambling, it is, at its root, still an illness.
