Green Is The Colour - Pink Floyd - Soundtrack From The Film ;More; (Cassette, Album)

Saw Pink Floyd play twice for a few hundred people and bought More as impressionable 16 year old in To me that is the real Floyd. I lost interest after Meddle. At first, I was a bit snooty about it all. It took me a long time to learn to like them all over again as if they were a different band.

For you to make the same journey backwards is even tougher. Newton John , Jan 5, Location: Antalya, Turkey. Guy E , Jan 5, Location: Kent. I think part of my issue with it is therefore the lack of familiarity with it.

Having listened extensively to Relics back in the day the two tracks are not representative of the rest of the album. I don't think that the film would help, though I have not tried it.

What works for me is to listen to the tracks selectively depending on my mood, rather than treating it as an album in its own right.

I do prefer the tracks in their film order, which spreads out the fillers, so that might help. Location: USA. I love More very much. Green Is the Colour and Cymbaline are two of my favorite Floyd songs. Holy Diver , Jan 6, Location: Leeuwarden, Netherlands. It's a picture of a band experimenting and attempting to find their sound following Syd Barrett's departure and it is great. If you like their early sound and are in the mood for some moody British pop with some very dark Sun Ra jazz lurking around every corner then don't hesitate to buy this album!!

This is not an album for most fans of Pink Floyd. It is not the cohesive concept album that would define the later Floyd. I am a Pink Floyd fan and I love some of the mellow acid songs that are on this disk, particularly "Green is the Colour" and "Cirrus Minor". The remastering of this disk bring these quiet gems back to life. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. David Gilmour stars on lead vocals even on tracks written by Roger Waters, and begins to reveal what an outstanding guitarist he was starting to become with an instantly recognisable style.

The remaster is superb, the best-ever of these rarely-performed pieces with warm sound and all instruments in perfect balance. A truly beautiful record, exquisitely remastered, giving it exceptional sound quality.

All instruments sound crisp, clear and well separated. This music is all that you would expect of and hope for, from sixties Floyd, notwithstanding the wonderful, proto-punk Nile Song, with its exciting Hendrix-style soloing from Mr Gilmour.. Good condition for price, but music is awful. Nearly put me off Pink Floyd, but heard the wall and all OK again.

I won't be buying the film. Bought the LP when it came out, but this remaster on CD brings out all those quieter passages that were lost on vinyl.

As a soundtrack it does suffer from bad sequencing from really LOUD to very quiet One person found this helpful. With so many quiet bits. Having had a few original pressings of this record, i can say that this pressing is great. But if you have a genuine mint original, enjoy that and ignore me. 1. Mar 12,  · There is a lot of variation on this album, probably more than any other Pink Floyd album, but it remains cohesive, beautifully balanced. "Main Theme" is a star-bursting wonder. Please give More an archival vinyl release soon so more can enjoy it properly/5().
  2. Mar 18,  · I like the playfulness of Relics, the wackiness of Umma Gumma, but my favourite Pink Floyd album always comes back to More. There is something very English about it, sortoflike a medieval Greensleeves thing far away, there lurking in the background, coming out now and then (with a bit of acid, spanish guitar, rock and psychedelia to throw you off)/5(K).
  3. “Green Is the Colour” is a track on Pink Floyd’s Soundtrack from the Film More. It was composed and written by Roger Waters and sung by David Gilmour. A tin whistle .
  4. Its a soundtrack and an early album by Pink Floyd that I believe most people overlook. It is also one of my favorite Pink Floyd CDs. It falls between "A Saucer Full of Secrets" and "Meddle" era Pink Floyd. The remixed version sounds fantastic and is worth repurchasing if you are serious about sound quality/5().
  5. More is the third studio album and first soundtrack album by English rock band Pink was released on 13 June in the United Kingdom by EMI Columbia and on 9 August in the United States by Tower Records. The soundtrack is for the film of the same name, which was primarily filmed on location on Ibiza and was the directorial debut of Barbet Schroeder.
  6. Pink Floyd – Green Is the Colour. If you have only heard the version on the More soundtrack, you are missing out. There is the one above, and another.I think it is a BBC recording. WAY BETTER than the album version. bbbcswron May 04, .
